Discussion: The Most Common Song Meanings

Glad you made it! I can’t wait to hear what song you chose and what you think of it.

Just to help keep the creative juices flowing, I’ve copied down the “homework” part of the email I sent you.

Your Turn: What are a few other broad categories that a lot of songs fit into? Is there a kind you prefer? The songs about God I find intensely interesting.

Homework: Go to the Billboard Hot 100 on Billboard.com and listen to a few of the songs. What are the songs you picked and which of these six categories do they fit into?

NOW ANALYZE! In the comment area below, mention your song and tell us what you learned about it. You and your findings may get featured in an email or a podcast in the future!

And with that...

Congratulations!

You've just graduated Song Meaning Pro! You're a song meaning expert now, and I hope you use your powers for good! Let's spread meaning and meaning awareness in the culture and our own thought lives. You've got this!

Also... I'd really like your help on future songs. I'll be emailing you in the future with opportunities to analyze music. Either way, I can't wait to hear more from you! Feel free to drop me an email at jugglingcliff@gmail.com (or just hit "reply") and let me know what you thought of Song Meaning Pro!

Sincerely,

Clifford Stumme

P.S. The adventure's only just beginning. Stay on the lookout for e-books and teaching curriculum coming from me to you. I'm excited to continue spreading meaning awareness.
